Very Important or Critical Conservation is a cultural construct that has proved its worth and has evolved to adapt to the various challenges of the times and the possibilities offered by technology. However, it might be a mistake to think that what we have thus far understood as ‘conservation’ will remain useful forever. Conservation was invented in response to a set of historical circumstances, and if those circumstances change it might cease to be useful. (268)
